The Campaign for Free College Tuition (CFCT) announces that Ryan Morgan has succeeded Morley Winograd as CEO of the non-profit coalition. Winograd will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Morgan is a political strategist and data analyst, focusing on fundraising, digital tools for campaigns and non-profits, and legislative advocacy. He founded two businesses: Veracity Media – a top-tier digital advertising agency, and PACtion Data – the country's largest small-dollar fundraising firm. Since 2014, Morgan has advised the Campaign for Free College Tuition on social media and online communication strategies.

“CFCT evolved from discussions that started in 2013 among a group of former elected officials and policy experts who wanted to make another contribution to America’s future,” said Winograd. “We made a mutual commitment to eliminate cost as a barrier to attaining a post-secondary degree or certificate for every American who is academically ready and so determined.”

“With free college tuition programs established in 30 plus red, blue and purple states, now is the time for new day-to-day leadership and generational change at CFCT,” said Winograd. “Ryan Morgan’s experience in politics, policy and technology, will greatly enhance CFCT’s ability to work with states to establish or enhance free college tuition programs.”

Morgan replied, “I look forward to working with Morley and the CFCT’s Board of Directors to achieve our goal of making public college tuition free in all 50 states. Expanding existing free college tuition programs to include students seeking a Bachelor’s degree at public colleges and universities will be a focus of the Campaign.”

CFCT Board member Doug Ross, a former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor and senior advisor to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, was elected Vice President of CFCT’s Board of Directors. The position was vacant due to the unfortunate passing of trade association executive and civic leader Harris Miller. Jack MacKenzie, the Founder and CEO of CollegeAPP – a higher education focused data analytics and consulting firm – was also elected to CFCT’s Board of Directors. We can't do this alone!

Our goal is to make higher education a possibility for every American, without regard to their financial circumstances.

We have a lot to do and not much time to do it, so your support is critical for our campaign to succeed. It’s with your investment that we can fundamentally reform how higher education is financed in this country, opening the doors to a more equitable society.

If you agree with our goal, our plan, and the urgency of the problem, we ask that you give what you can to help us write the next chapter in our nation’s history of continuously expanding access to universal, free education.

The Campaign for Free College Tuition is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in the State of Washington in 2014 to educate parents, students, the higher education community, policy makers and taxpayers about efforts needed to fundamentally reform our nation’s system for financing higher education. This website and CFCT’s educational outreach activities are made possible through generous individual and foundation support.
